This book contains a complete system of ceremonial magic, covering areas considered to be both black and white. It is an advanced test that requires focus and concentration. Although written as a novel, this book is actually a true story according to the author, Aleister Crowley. With his black magick and occult background the popular press began calling him "The Wickedest Man in the World". This wickedness included his involvement with drug addiction, and this book brings the reader into the minds of users. It clearly explains how one can be drawn in and trapped by addictive drugs like cocaine and heroin, including why the habit is held onto while the users life is ruined. Crowley explains the use of the Will, found in some of his magickal works, in attempting to combat the problem. Considered by some his best-written work, reveals the amazing highs and the complete ruin that can follow. [via]

The Qabalah is the ancient system of Hebrew mysticism that is the foundation of Western magical and esoteric studies. Its primary symbol is the Tree of Life, a diagram that can aid in the study of the nature of the Universe, the essence of God, and the human mind, spirit, and soul. A Garden of Pomegranates is the clearest introductory guide on this subject.
When Israel Regardie wrote A Garden of Pomegranates in 1932, he designed it to be a simple yet comprehensive guidebook outlining the complex system of the Qabalah and providing a key to its symbolism. Since then, it has achieved the status of a classic among texts on the Qabalah. The full annotations, critical commentary, and explanatory notes now make this book the ultimate single resource on the subject. The new material, including pathworkings, exercises, daily affirmations, rituals, meditations, and more, not only complement the original, full text included in this edition, but also make A Garden of Pomegranates indispensable for modern magicians.

They have also added new material in a separate section that more than doubles the size of the book with their valuable insights and knowledge.

The Qabalah is one of the great foundations of Western esoteric and spiritual thought. It is an important tool in learning to use the intuition to explore the archetypal realms of divine life. The Mystical Qabalah is widely recognized as the most practical and authoritative guide to understanding and using the Qabalah. It explains its roots in Jewish mysticism, then demonstrates how this glyph the Tree of Life can be used to understand the emanations of the mind of God. The author, Dion Fortune, was one of the leading figures in the Western esoteric tradition during the first half of the twentieth century. [via]

The secret writings of this mystical order reveal the keys to astral projection, clairvoyance, and other magical practices.
The present-day revival of the practice of magic owes much to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, the fin de siecle secret society that rediscovered many occult traditions dating back to antiquity. Prominent adepts of the Golden Dawn, whose members included W. B. Yeats and Aleister Crowley, preserved these traditions in manuscripts to be circulated among initiates of the Order. These documents, known as the Flying Rolls, reveal secrets of astral projection, clairvoyance, exorcism, alchemy, and other magical practices and occult philosophy. Many of the Flying Rolls escaped print and remained secret for some time, only slowly being tracked down over the years. Here, Francis King presents all the previously unpublished Flying Rolls.
" Renowned occultist Francis King includes previously unpublished secret writings of the Golden Dawn in this important collection.
" These are essential texts for practitioners of magical techniques, and of great interest to any student of Western occultism.

The act of constructing a wand or other ritual object is an act of magic. The magician spends an extraordinary amount of time creating ritual objects, not because it is only through these objects that magic can rightly be performed, but because the act of creating is a magical process of growth, one which initiates the development of the will in accordance with the divine intent or purpose. This in turn contributes to the success of the ritual. The construction of a ritual object should be treated like any other magical operation. It should focus all parts of the magician's mind (intellect, creativity, imagination, spiritual self) into one purpose to manifest an object which will be a receptacle for higher forces, in order that the magician too can become a worthy receptacle of that which is divine. Chic Cicero and S. Tabatha Cicero have been instrumental in preserving the mystical wisdom of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Their Secrets of a Golden Dawn Temple: The Alchemy and Crafting of Magickal Implements was the first book to bring you detailed instructions on crafting and using the ritual implements of the Golden Dawn system of magic. Now their classic text has been updated. This is the most complete book to date on the construction of the many tools used in the Golden Dawn system of magic. Here is a unique compilation of the various tools of the Golden Dawn, all described in full: wands, swords, elemental tools, Enochian Tablets, altars, temple furniture, banners, pillars, thrones, lamens, mantles and robes, ritual headdresses and ceremonial clothing, admission badges, and much more. This book provides complete step-by-step instructions for the construction of nearly 80 different implements, all displayed in photographs or drawings, along with the exact symbolism behind each and every item. Written more than two thousand years ago, the Tao Teh Ching , or "The Classic of the Way and Its Virtue," has probably had a greater influence on Asian thought than any other single book. It is also one of the true classics of the world of spiritual literature.
Traditionally attributed to the near-legendary "Old Master," Lao Tzu, the Tao Teh Ching teaches that the qualities of the enlightened sage or ideal ruler are identical with those of the perfected individual. Today, Lao Tzu's words are as useful in mastering the arts of leadership in business and politics as they are in developing a sense of balance and harmony in everyday life. To follow the Tao or Way of all things and realize their true nature is to embdy humility, spontaneity, and generosity.
John C. H. Wu has done a remarkable job of rendering this subtle text into English while retaining the freshness and depth of the original. A jurist and scholar, Dr. Wu was a recognized authority on Taoism and the translator of several Taoist and Zen texts and of Chinese poetry. [via]

In a new approach to the Tao Te Ching, this acclaimed translator explores the full range of meaning for each Chinese character, allowing readers, in effect, to interpret the ancient wisdom book for themselves.
Not only is Ancient Chinese a challenge to translate, but it contains a minefield of arcane terms and expressions that often have no counterparts in English. So while the Tao Te Ching is one of the most widely read books in the world, it remains also one of the most misunderstood.
Tao Te Ching: The Definitive Edition helps to remedy this situation. In addition to his own masterful translation, Jonathan Star supplies the multiple meanings of each Chinese character. Readers can use Star's translation in the first half of the book, can create their own by using the multiple definitions in the second half, or can combine the two to discover the most profound.
Star's work elucidates how translators arrive at diffuse meanings, as well as how the ancient Chinese regarded different concepts and what they meant within the context of the Tao. The volume also includes useful commentary, a character dictionary, and other tools that illuminate the different meanings of the Tao. This definitive edition enables Westerners to comprehend the Tao more deeply than ever before. [via]

Reportedly written by a sage named Lao Tzu over 2,500 years ago, the Tao Te Ching is one of the most succinct--and yet among the most profound--spiritual texts ever written. Short enough to read in an afternoon, subtle enough to study for a lifetime, the Tao Te Ching distills into razor-sharp poetry centuries of spiritual inquiry into the Tao--the "Way" of the natural world around us that reveals the ultimate organizing principle of the universe.
Derek Lin's insightful commentary, along with his new translation from the original Chinese--a translation that sets a whole new standard for accuracy--will inspire your spiritual journey and enrich your everyday life. It highlights the Tao Te Ching's insights on simplicity, balance, and learning from the paradoxical truths you can see all around you: finding strength through flexibility (because bamboo bends, it is tough to break); achieving goals by transcending obstacles (water simply flows around rocks on its way to the sea); believing that small changes bring powerful results (a sapling, in time, grows into a towering tree).
Now you can experience the wisdom and power of Lao Tzu's words even if you have no previous knowledge of the Tao Te Ching. SkyLight Illuminations provides insightful yet unobtrusive commentary that describes helpful historical background, explains the Tao Te Ching's poetic imagery, and elucidates the ancient Taoist wisdom that will speak to your life today and energize your spiritual quest. 2012 Reprint of Original Three Volume s First Published from 1905-1907. Exact facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. This is a collection of Crowley's early esoteric writings and poetry and comprise the first collected edition of his writings. Aleister Crowley, born Edward Alexander Crowley, and also known as both Frater Perdurabo and The Great Beast, was an influential English occultist, mystic, ceremonial magician, poet and mountaineer, who was responsible for founding the religious philosophy of Thelema. In his role as the founder of the Thelemite philosophy, he came to see himself as the prophet who was entrusted with informing humanity that it was entering the new Aeon of Horus in the early 20th century. Born into a wealthy upper class family, as a young man he became an influential member of the esoteric Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn after befriending the order's leader, Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers. Subsequently believing that he was being contacted by his Holy Guardian Angel, an entity known as Aiwass, while staying in Egypt in 1904, he "received" a text known as 'The Book of the Law' from what he believed was a divine source, and around which he would come to develop his new philosophy of Thelema. He would go on to found his own occult society and eventually rose to become a leader of Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), before founding a religious commune in Cefalu known as the Abbey of Thelema, which he led from 1920 through till 1923. After abandoning the Abbey amid widespread opposition, Crowley returned to Britain, where he continued to promote Thelema until his death. Crowley has remained an influential figure and is widely thought of as the most influential occultist of all time. Includes: Volume 1. Aceldama. The tale of Archais. Songs of the spirit. The poem.
