A Folktale from the Hmong People of Laos

Blia Xiong heard the folktale "Nine-in-One, Grr! Grr!" when she was a small girl living in the mountains of Laos. Cathy Spagnoli started collecting stories from Southeast Asisn refugees in 1983 as a way to build cross-cultural bridges. The artwork is adapted from the Laotian technique of narrative stitchery.
