About the book:

Coyote Creek Adventures, a collection of short stories about a grandfather, grandmother, and their three grandchildren set on a small farm and surrounding area, is based on truth with a light-hearted exaggeration, requested to be heard over and over again by children and re-read by adults. The first adventure develops around the farms best cow Ole Twelve and the future growth of the herd. When she gets out of the fence, Papa and the grandchildren are forced to spend the night in an old scary barn while searching for her. The Mouse Pocket involves the furnace quitting in the middle of winter and so Papa sets out to cut firewood. The Teacher is about the granddaughter who wants to become a teacher. Its an education for all. In Twelves Tail, coyotes get after Ole Twelve, and Papa goes to her aid. In the next adventure, Papa teaches the grandsons to skip rocks and finds he may have a future major league pitcher. The Christmas Tree is about Papa and the grandchildren going in search of a Christmas tree in a deep snow. A gloomy Christmas becomes one of the best ever.
