About the book:

A must for any Radio Broadcasting history buff. The autobiography of a Detroit Radio pioneer, 1919-1922, where it all began at 8MK, now WWJ in Detroit. The book is full of photos from those days when the Detroit News obtained a wireless license from the Department of the Navy. 8MK was the first station to broadcast public service news reports regularly. They used the same frequency as the steamships plying the Detroit River. This book is printed in the typestyle of a Smith-Corona typewriter used at the time and several actual radio scripts are reproduced.
