During his brief career, she wrote novels , treatises , story books and a book of children's literature. Wollstonecraft is best known for A Vindication of the Rights of Women , which argues that women are not naturally inferior to men , but appear to be because they do not receive the same education. He argues that men and women should be treated as rational beings and imagines a social order founded on reason. Both by the general public as feminists, Wollstonecraft 's life has undergone the same interest , if not greater, than his works, due to his unconventional and often tumultuous relationships . After two ill-fated romances with Henry Fuseli and Gilbert Imlay , Wollstonecraft married the philosopher William Godwin, one of the precursors of the anarchist movement ; with him had a daughter , Mary Shelley , author of Frankenstein and wife of known romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. Wollstonecraft died at the age of thirty-eight years due to complications from the birth of her daughter, leaving behind several unfinished manuscripts. Today, Wollstonecraft is considered a precursor of feminist philosophy.
